I’ve just finished reading this excellent book about the Festival Of Britain, and thinking, on a beautiful June day, what a shame it is that London no longer has its own Tivoli Gardens, and that the Festival’s Pleasure Gardens weren’t preserved and maintained for revelling” and “strolling” today…
